Grad Requirements
The state of Minnesota, the Evangelization and Catechesis, and the Administration of St. Mary’s have established the following high school graduation requirements:
Total Credits Required
- Class of 2017= 27 Total Credits
- Class of 2018 & Beyond = 28 Total Credits
Schedule Information
- 8 Period a Day Schedule
- One study hall is highly recommended
- Administrative approval is necessary for students to take a full 8 course load without a study hall
Coures and Requirements
Religion:
- 4 Credits
English/Communications:
- 4 Credits
- Speech is incorporated into the English curriculum during all 4 years
Mathematics:
- 3 Credits
- Algebra I (1 Credit)
- Students may take this course as 8th graders
- Geometry (1 Credit)
- Algebra II (1 Credit)
- Alternative may be offered on an individual basis
Science:
3 Credits
- Physical Science (1 Credit)
- Biology (1 Credit)
- 1 credit from the following:
- Chemistry (1 Credit) or
- Foundations in Chemistry (1 Credit)
Social Studies:
- 3.5 Credits
- U.S. History (1 Credit)
- Geography/Government (1 Credit)
- World History/Geography (1 Credit)
- Economics (½ Credit)
Physical Education/Health:
- 2 Credits
Fine Arts:

At least 1 credit from: Band or Choir

Business:
½ Credit
- Personal Finance (½ Credit)
Electives:
- 5 Elective credits – Class of 2017
