Students will learn to apply the fundamentals of personal financial management. They will become knowledgeable about a variety of topics such as income taxes, salary and benefits, budgets and financial records, saving and investing, managing credit, insurance, purchasing automobile, home mortgages, and decision- making strategies.
Accounting I

Accounting is the “Language of Business.” It is the organizing and summarizing of your money so that you know how well your business is doing. Through this course of study, students will progress through the entire accounting cycle as it applies to service and merchandise businesses. Learning can be transferred to apply also to personal situations in the everyday life, including topics such as checking accounts, payroll, and common terminology such as expenses, income, profit, and net loss. Students will also be exposed to entering data and compiling financial statements using an accounting program.
Computers

This course will provide students with an in-depth look at a variety of computer subjects. Students will learn in detail how the internet works, components of the computer, storage media and storage devices. They will also be introduced to networks and wireless communications, computer security, digital communication and the impact of computer technology on people and our society. This course uses a textbook with an online companion that utilizes interactive exercises and web-based student labs for reinforcement of key concepts. This course is recommended for 4-year college bound students, especially those considering colleges in South Dakota.
