Head Football Coach
Position Overview
Sleepy Eye United (a successful cooperative program between Sleepy Eye Public and Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s) is seeking a dynamic, high-energy, and dedicated leader to serve as the Head Varsity Football Coach. We are looking for an individual who is not only passionate about the game of football but is also committed to the character development and academic success of our student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Direct all aspects of the SEU football program, including varsity, junior varsity, and coordination with junior high levels.
- Player Development: Cultivate a culture of discipline, sportsmanship, and physical fitness while teaching fundamental and advanced football skills.
- Staff Management: Recruit, supervise, and mentor a staff of assistant coaches to ensure a cohesive coaching philosophy across all levels.
- Community Engagement: Act as a positive ambassador for the program within the Sleepy Eye community and maintain strong communication with parents and school administration.
- Off-Season Oversight: Manage summer camps, weight room programs, and conditioning sessions to ensure year-round athlete progression.
Qualifications
- Coaching Experience: Prior experience in a leadership role (Head Coach or Coordinator) at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
- Certification: Must hold or be eligible for a Minnesota coaching license/certification.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of current football schemes, safety protocols, and MSHSL rules and regulations.
- Character: Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to motivate young men to reach their full potential on and off the field.
