Information from our District: Response to COVID-10
If you are an essential employee as defined by the state criteria-health care workers, emergency responders, police, etc; and you will need daycare for a child that otherwise would have been in school, you will need to contact Mr. Cselovszki at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the childcare list. We will require verification of essential worker status. Childcare will be available between March 18-27 from 6 am to 6 pm for qualified individuals.
Governor Walz placed a Shelter in Home directive for the State of Minnesota from Friday, March 27th through Friday, April 10th
Schools in Minnesota are ordered to be closed and offer distance learning until May 4. We will follow Sleepy Eye Public School’s tentative back to school date of Tuesday, May 5.
This includes students in Pre-K through 6th grade, all of Mrs. Windschitl’s JH/HS classes, and Mrs. Christensen’s Spanish I class.
All packets will be delivered to your homes.
Since educators are considered essential workers, several teachers will be delivering homework and picking up homework from your home in town. Buses will be going into the country. Even if an out-of-town family does not normally use the bus, we will be delivered to you.
PLEASE have some type of tub or container outside your home that contains the homework that is completed. Homework will be picked up, with the new homework placed in the container. (Buses will drive up to the house.)
We will begin delivering at 8:00 a.m. Monday, March 30th.
As much as we would enjoy seeing the students, for safety purposes, they should not come outside. We certainly can wave from the window!
IMPORTANT: if for some reason a family is quarantined, please call the school. We will not stop at the house. Special arrangements will be made with the teacher/child, so parents will need to notify the teacher as well.
This homework period will run from March 30-April 13. Another homework delivery is planned for Monday, April 13.
No homework will be given on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, or Easter Monday, as this was a scheduled vacation.
